There’s a nifty Intensive speed setting that runs for 5 minutes: if the hood is on when the Intensive speed is activated, the hood will revert to the previous speed after 5 minutes. If the hood is off when the Intensive speed is activated, the hood will automatically turn off after 5 minutes. The EFC9430X is also fitted with a device that signals when it is necessary to clean the grease filter or the charcoal filter (if the hood is used in the recirculation version with a charcoal filter). The permanent metal grease filter can be popped in the dishwasher for easy cleaning, and the hood is supplied with a charcoal filter. Unusually, this filter can be ‘refreshed’ in the dishwasher before being dried in the oven and only needs to be replaced every 3 years.
